Adopt Me 2D Tuesday Guide: Times, 20 Needs and Is the 2D Box Worth It?

TL;DR, bestie

2D Tuesday is Adopt Me’s weekly mini-event. Every Tuesday (Pacific time) there are three one-hour slots, at 12am, 8am and 4pm PT. Anyone logged in at the start gets a free Temporary 2D Kitty with 2x Bucks and XP. Finish 20 needs on it in one slot to earn one free 2D Box a week. The box has a 1.5% chance at a 2D Kitty you keep, and the same 1.5% at a 2D Doggy. Next week’s slots start Tue 10 Nov: 12am PT / 3am ET / 8am GMT / 7pm AEDT / 9pm NZDT. My take: it’s the best free hour in Adopt Me, as long as you treat the box as a bonus, not a jackpot.

Scam check

Nobody can sell you a “2D Box key”, give you extra boxes or “guarantee” a 2D Kitty drop. The box comes from the Task Board and nowhere else. Anyone asking for your password to “claim 2D Tuesday rewards” is trying to steal your account. Adopt Me has no working codes, and trades only happen in the trade window.

Halloween is over, the Wagon leaves on Friday, and my Candy Corn is mostly gone. So what’s left to log in for midweek? 2D Tuesday. It’s been running every week since December 2025, and it’s still the easiest free value in the game. This guide covers the times in your time zone, how to clear 20 needs without spending a Buck, what’s in the box and whether it’s worth setting an alarm for.

What is 2D Tuesday?

Fact: the Adopt Me Wiki says 2D Tuesday started on 16 December 2025 and runs every Tuesday, in three one-hour windows. The official event card in the game sums it up: complete 20 needs on the 2D Kitty to get a free 2D Box, with “a chance at a variety of rewards, including a 2D Kitty that’s yours to keep.”

What you getHow
Temporary 2D Kitty (2x Bucks and XP)Be logged in when a slot starts
2D Box (one a week)Complete 20 needs on the 2D Kitty in one slot
Permanent 2D Kitty or 2D Doggy1.5% each, from the box

The 2D Kitty is a black-and-white sketch cat. From the side it’s basically one line, which is incredibly funny.

2D Tuesday times in your time zone

The event card lists the slots in Pacific time, and US clocks went back on 1 November. Here are next week’s slots:

For anyone in New Zealand or Sydney reading this today: this week’s last slot is Tue 3 Nov: 4pm PT / 7pm ET / 12am GMT (Wed 4 Nov) / 11am AEDT (Wed 4 Nov) / 1pm NZDT (Wed 4 Nov). “2D Tuesday” lands on a Wednesday for us, and yes, it confuses me every single week.

You only need one slot. According to the event card, once you’ve claimed your box the event won’t show up for you again until next week, so pick whichever slot fits your day.

How to earn the 2D Box

  1. Be in the game when a slot starts. The Temporary 2D Kitty appears and follows you automatically.
  2. Open the Task Board and find the cat tab called 2D Tuesday. It tracks “Complete 20 Needs on a 2D Kitty pet.”
  3. Do 20 needs in that slot. AllThingsHow tested it, and progress doesn’t carry over between slots. Their 10/20 went back to 0/20.
  4. Press “Claim All” first, then “Claim” under the box. In AllThingsHow’s test, “Claim” did nothing until they’d pressed “Claim All”.
  5. Open the box from your hotbar.

How I’d finish 20 needs in one hour (for free)

AllThingsHow cleared 20 needs within the hour without buying anything, mostly from inside their own house. Their receipts line up with how I’d play it:

  • Start inside your own house. The crib handles sleepy, the shower handles dirty and the bathroom handles potty.
  • Do pet me, walk and play the moment they pop up. They’re quick and free. A walk is just picking the kitty up and wandering for about 30 to 40 seconds.
  • Have food and a drink in your bag before the slot. Hungry and thirsty then take one click each. Their thirsty need stalled because they had no drink.
  • Own a stroller for the car ride need.
  • Skip the “Go to the nearest…” place needs like camping or the beach. One camping need dragged them across the map for 15 minutes and then vanished without counting.
  • Use the purple “?” need to pick the easiest option.
  • Press Esc, then R, then Enter to reset straight back home. The kitty came with them.
  • Don’t leave the server once the hour is up. Rejoining sometimes kept their kitty and progress, and sometimes wiped both.

My honest take on the hour: 20 needs in 60 minutes sounds easy until four “go to the beach” bubbles show up at once. The house trick is the whole strategy. Treat the kitty like a houseplant that occasionally wants a walk.

What’s in the 2D Box?

Fact: the box’s “Show Odds” list, as AllThingsHow recorded it, has 13 rewards:

RewardChance
2D Kitty Sticker, 2D Bone Chew Toy, 2D Pencil Rattle, 2D Glasses, 2D Top Hat12% each
2D Crown, 2D Backpack6% each
2D Balloon, 2D Star Throw Toy, 2D Bowtie, 2D Wings6.25% each
2D Kitty (permanent)1.5%
2D Doggy (permanent)1.5%

Here’s the math that matters. At 1.5% for the kitty and one box a week, you’d expect it about once every 67 weeks on average. That’s well over a year of Tuesdays. Your odds of getting either rare pet are 3%, so about once every 33 weeks.

Is 2D Tuesday worth it? My take

Yes, but only for the right reasons. The 2x Bucks and XP on a pet you’d be caring for anyway is free value, and the box costs you nothing. That’s a W.

But don’t chase the 2D Kitty. With one box a week, that 1.5% is a slow burn. If you want one now, trading is faster than waiting, and that’s where people get scammed. So check values on the day and use only the trade window.

What I’d skip: buying Bucks items mid-slot just to finish needs faster. AllThingsHow did it for free, so you can too.

Kiko’s take: 2D Tuesday is the most wholesome thing in Adopt Me: an hour, a sketchy cat and a free box. I play it like a weekly chore that pays, not a lottery. Set an alarm for the slot that suits your time zone, stay home, do 20 needs and collect your accessory. If the 2D Kitty ever drops, amazing. If not, I still got 2x Bucks for petting a drawing. Peak 2000s Flash game energy, and I’m here for it.
