99 Nights Hedge Maze Refresh Guide: Carnival Tickets, Vampire Chest and Which Reward I’d Pick

TL;DR, bestie

The Hedge Maze Refresh is the last Halloween stage in 99 Nights in the Forest, and it ends Sat 7 Nov: 2:30am PT / 5:30am ET / 10:30am GMT / 9:30pm AEDT / 11:30pm NZDT. Win the three Carnival games (Ring Toss, Hoop Shot, Shooting Gallery) for three Carnival Tickets, cash them in at the central booth for the Vampire Scythe or the Vampire Cloak, then fight to the chest at the end of the maze. My pick: Scythe if you fight, Cloak if you’re the one who keeps dying.

Scam check

There’s nothing to “unlock” from outside the game. Sites and Discord DMs selling “maze skips”, Candy or a finished Vampire Chest are scams, and exploit scripts can get your account banned. Codes only go in the game’s own Codes button.

Two days left, a maze that literally grabs you, and a carnival full of cardboard monsters that are probably just cardboard. I went through the patch notes, the wiki pages and a few full walkthrough videos so you can do this in one clean run instead of five messy ones.

Halloween classesGhost Ranger (1,000 Candy), Witch (2026 price not confirmed)

The official notes are short. They say the hedges are more dangerous, the paths are less predictable, there are new treasures, and you should beware the vines. Everything more specific than that comes from wikis and players, and I’ve flagged it below.

Step 1: Win the three Carnival games

Each booth hands you the gear: Carnival Rings for Ring Toss, a Carnival Basketball for Hoop Shot and an Air Rifle for the Shooting Gallery. Beat each one and you get a Carnival Ticket.

Community guides list these goals (they match last year’s version, so double-check the sign at each booth):

BoothGoal (community data)Timer
Ring TossLand 3 rings on bottlesabout 14 seconds
Hoop ShotSink 3 basketballsabout 12 seconds
Shooting GalleryHit 5 moving targetsabout 10 seconds after your first hit

Guides also say each game pays a few Candies (up to about five). That’s not a lot, but it stacks.

My take: do the Shooting Gallery last. It’s the one people fail most because the timer starts on your first hit, so warm up on the other two, then take your time lining up that first shot. Aim small, miss small.

Step 2: Spend your tickets (Scythe or Cloak?)

Three tickets at the central booth buys one reward. Here’s what the wiki says each does:

RewardWhat it doesWho it’s for
Vampire ScytheHigh damage, and every hit on an enemy heals you a bitPlayers who fight wolves and cultists head-on
Vampire CloakCuts damage from enemies and fills a bar at night or when you hit things, then gives a big burst of healingNewer players and anyone who keeps getting chewed on

My pick: the Scythe if you’re the group’s fighter. Healing on hit turns every wolf into a snack bar. The Cloak if you’re newer, playing solo or tend to run out of bandages. It’s a safety net that works even when you’re losing. I wouldn’t overthink it, because both are better than walking into a hedge that hugs back with nothing.

Like other chest and booth loot, these are items for the run you’re in, so you can try the other one next run.

Step 3: Get through the maze

The 2026 maze is a full rework, so old 2025 routes don’t apply. What players and guides agree on:

  • Watch the walls, not just the path. Moving hedges shift routes, and vines can grab you. Keep to the middle of corridors.
  • Go by day. Guides warn the Deer can turn up inside at night, and wolves sit at dead ends.
  • Check dead ends anyway. Players report Spooky Chests tucked into side paths. Worth the detour if you’ve got health.
  • The finish: several walkthroughs show an Alpha Wolf guarding the last section, with the Vampire Chest (also called the Hedge Maze Chest) at the end. The wiki lists Vampire Cloak, Scythe and Bouncing Blade as its rewards.
  • Leave by the exit, don’t backtrack. Guides say there’s an exit behind the final room. Walking back through vines is how you lose a full health bar for nothing.

One honest note: sources disagree on small details. Some say the tickets open the maze gate, others say you trade them at the booth. The official update page says you trade three tickets at the central booth, so that’s what I’d trust. If your game shows something different, the game wins.

Hot take: the Bouncing Blade from the chest is the sleeper pick of this event. It ricochets to a second enemy, which is great against wolf packs, and almost nobody talks about it because the Scythe has better marketing.

What to finish before Saturday

  1. Buy your Halloween class if you’ve got the Candy. The Ghost Ranger is 1,000 Candy. My Ghost Ranger guide covers whether it’s worth it, and my Witch guide explains why I still can’t confirm her 2026 price.
  2. Short on Candy? My Candy farming guide has the fastest routes left. Carnival games help a little too.
  3. Do at least one full maze clear. Even if you don’t care about loot, it’s the last time this maze exists in this form.
  4. Don’t leave it to the final hour. The listing ends at the time above, and Halloween stuff can switch off with the update.

Is the Hedge Maze Refresh worth your last two days? My honest take

Yes, mostly because it’s short and fun. A full carnival-plus-maze run takes one session, the rewards are genuinely useful in a fight, and the moving hedges make it feel new even if you played last year’s version. Where I’d pull back: don’t grind it endlessly for Candy. The Carnival games pay crumbs. If your goal is a class, farm Candy the normal way and use the maze as dessert.

For parents

It’s a spooky hedge maze with cardboard monsters, a wolf and the usual 99 Nights jump-scare energy. Nothing new in terms of scariness compared with the rest of the game, which my parent’s guide covers. No purchase is needed for any of it.

Kiko’s take: Do the Carnival games in one go, grab the Scythe if you fight or the Cloak if you survive by the skin of your teeth, then clear the maze by day and leave through the exit. It’s the best two-day farewell to Halloween this game has done, and it doesn’t ask for a single Robux. Just don’t hug the hedges. They hug back.

FAQ

When does the Hedge Maze Refresh end in 99 Nights?

How do I get Carnival Tickets?

Win the three Carnival games: Ring Toss, Hoop Shot and Shooting Gallery. Each win gives one ticket.

Scythe if you fight a lot, because every hit heals you. Cloak if you’re newer or keep dying, because it cuts damage and gives a burst heal.

Is the Hedge Maze too scary for kids?

It’s about as scary as the rest of 99 Nights. Moving hedges and a wolf, no gore.
