Witch Class in 99 Nights in the Forest: Perks, Cost and Is It Worth It?

TL;DR, bestie

The Witch is back in 99 Nights in the Forest. She returned to Happy’s Halloween shop with the Hedge Maze Refresh on 31 October. She starts with an infinite-use Witches Potion: an area-of-effect throw that damages or applies a random effect, heals allies at level 2 and adds light poison to everything at level 3. In 2025 she cost 900 Candy. I haven’t been able to confirm the 2026 price (one outlet reports 2,000), so check the shop before you farm. If you can afford her, she’s one of the best support-damage hybrids in the game, and she stays in your inventory after Halloween. The shop deadline is Sat 7 Nov: 2:30am PT / 5:30am ET / 10:30am GMT / 9:30pm AEDT / 11:30pm NZDT.

The Witch was the class everyone wanted last Halloween. Now she’s back next to the brand-new Ghost Ranger. Here’s what she does, how to level her, how she compares with the Ghost Ranger and whether she’s worth your Candy this week.

Perks and levels

2Throw potions at allies to heal a small amountHit enemies with poison 100 times

Per the community class list, you can also skip levels with Robux: 250 for level 2 and 400 for level 3 (level 3 only after level 2).

Leveling her fast

The counter tracks how many times enemies are hit, not how many enemies. So:

  • Lob potions at everything, including bunnies and wolves, from day 1.
  • Run in a loop so chasing enemies bunch up, then hit the whole group with one throw.
  • Stronghold raids are perfect. Throw from cover, because the splash goes through walls and floors.

Why the Witch is so good

  • Infinite ammo. You never have to craft or loot ammo.
  • Area damage through walls. You can clear Cultist Stronghold floors from below by aiming at the ceiling.
  • Healing at level 2. It works on you and your teammates (but not summons), which is gold in Hard Mode, where passive healing stops and bandages get pricey.
  • Fire potions cook dropped meat, so you can eat away from the campfire.
  • Burning or poisoned enemies out of range don’t come after you, a handy quirk for kiting.

Her weak spots

  • The 6-second reload feels slow when something’s on top of you.
  • Low burst damage. She wears enemies down rather than deleting them.
  • The knockback can scatter groups, which slows down Stronghold clears.
  • She’s limited-time to buy. Miss this week and she leaves the shop.

Witch vs Ghost Ranger

The Hedge Maze Refresh added a second Candy class next to her:

WitchGhost Ranger (new)
Price900 Candy (2025); 2026 unconfirmed1,000 Candy
WeaponWitches Potion: area effects, infiniteGhost Crossbow: bolts pierce through enemies, unlimited reserve bolts
HealingYes, from level 2Not documented yet
Best atGroups, Strongholds, team supportSingle-target and lined-up enemies (early impressions)
Track recordA full year of community testingOut since 31 October

The Ghost Ranger’s full perk list isn’t documented yet. Early creator videos are hyping it up, but one weekend isn’t a verdict. If you can only afford one: solo players who want simple damage might prefer the Ghost Ranger, while teams and Hard Mode players should take the Witch for the healing.

Is the Witch worth it?

  • Yes, if you play with friends or Hard Mode. Healing plus area damage is a rare combo.
  • Yes, if you already have the Candy. She’s permanent once bought, so this is a one-time chance.
  • Maybe not, if you’re a brand-new player short on Candy. A cheap Diamond class and getting comfortable surviving nights might help you more. See my class tier list.
  • Already bought her in 2025? She should still be in your class list.

Kiko’s take: The Witch is the class equivalent of the friend who brings snacks and fights off the wolves. She’s not flashy or instant, but everyone survives longer. If the price hasn’t jumped, she’s my pick of the two Halloween classes. On the “would I trade my Tamagotchi” scale, that’s a reluctant but firm yes.

Scam check

Nobody can “unlock the Witch” for you, gift Candy from outside the game or sell you an account with her on it without risking a ban. Candy comes from in-game sources only, and codes go through the game’s own Codes button.
