MM2 Wiki: Every Knife, Gun, Role and System Explained

TL;DR, bestie

The kikomii MM2 Wiki is my encyclopedia for Murder Mystery 2: one clear page for every knife, gun, role and system.

  • Roles: one Murderer, one Sheriff, everyone else Innocent. An Innocent who grabs the dropped gun becomes the Hero.
  • Weapon rarities, low to high: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, Godly, then Ancient, Vintage and Unique at the collector end. Chroma is the rainbow version of certain Godlies.
  • Each weapon page covers where it came from, how to get it now, how in-demand it is (in words) and whether I’d chase it.
  • For live events and this week’s news, use the MM2 guide hub.

Murder Mystery 2 is older than a lot of the people playing it. It launched on Roblox in January 2014 and it’s still one of the busiest games on the platform, mostly because the rules fit on a napkin and the knife collecting never ends. The trouble is that the collecting side has years of retired event weapons, chromas, sets and slang. This wiki turns that pile into one tidy page per weapon or system.

How a round works

Every round drops the lobby onto a map and secretly hands out roles.

The Murderer

One player gets a knife and has to eliminate everyone before the timer runs out. They can stab up close or throw the knife. The trick is not looking like the Murderer, which is harder than it sounds when you’re the only one sprinting at people. The full playbook is in my Murderer tips and the role page for the Murderer.

The Sheriff

One player gets a gun and has to shoot the Murderer. Shoot an Innocent by mistake and you’re out. Patience wins more Sheriff rounds than aim does, which is the main point of my Sheriff tips.

Innocents and the Hero

Everyone else hides, collects coins and tries to survive. If the Sheriff goes down, the gun drops, and any Innocent who picks it up becomes the Hero with the same job. See my Innocent tips for staying alive long enough to matter.

Maps

Rounds rotate through a set of maps, and players vote on the next one in the lobby. Each map has its own hiding spots, choke points and long sight lines, and knowing them is honestly the fastest way to get better at every role. A Murderer who knows where the vents and side rooms are wins more rounds, and a Sheriff who knows the long hallways gets cleaner shots. Mansion 2, pictured above, is a fan favorite with plenty of corners to sneak around. Map pages are on my list too, with the best hiding and camping spots for each one.

Weapon rarities, explained

RarityWhere they usually come from
Common to LegendaryCrates bought with coins or gems. Plentiful and rarely traded
GodlyA small crate chance, events, crafting or trading. The heart of MM2 trading
ChromaRainbow-shifting versions of some Godlies, rarer than the plain one
AncientUsually event purchases from years past, now mostly trade-only
Vintage / ClassicWeapons from the original Murder Mystery, trade-only
UniqueTop tier, mostly leaderboard trophies. Nearly all can’t be traded; Corrupt is the famous exception

There are also collectibles, non-Godly weapons that ended up rarer than plenty of Godlies because they were only around for a short time. If you’re confused by any of the labels, my MM2 glossary has the lot.

Beyond the round

MM2 has more going on than knives and guns. Pets follow you around, effects and radios are cosmetic flexes, emotes give you something to do in the lobby, and Prestige resets your level for bragging rights and a reward. Crafting lets you combine items into new ones during certain seasons. Each of these gets its own page here, starting with Prestige, Crafting and Powers.
