Harvester in MM2: The First Ancient Gun and Its Candy Grind

TL;DR, bestie

  • The Harvester is an Ancient gun in Murder Mystery 2, and it was the first Ancient gun ever added.
  • It was the final reward of the Halloween Event 2021 Main Event. After 30 tiers, it cost 80,000 Candies at the end, or 97,400 Candies for the whole track.
  • The event ended in November 2021, so trading is the only way to get one now.
  • It’s an emerald-green crossbow with its own shooting sound, plus four leaderboard trophy versions.

Ancient knives had been around for years before anyone saw an Ancient gun. Then Halloween 2021 dropped the Harvester, and suddenly the sheriff round had a new status symbol. It’s a dark stone-and-steel crossbow that fires a green bolt, and it still gets a reaction when someone pulls it out in a lobby.

How to get the Harvester

During Halloween 2021, the Main Event had 30 tiers. You unlocked each tier with Candies, which you collected in rounds or bought, and the Harvester sat at the very end. The final tier alone cost 80,000 Candies. Adding up every tier on the way, a complete run cost 97,400 Candies. That’s a huge grind, and a lot of players topped up with Robux to finish it.

The event ran from late October to late November 2021. Once it closed, the Harvester stopped being earnable. Today you get one by trading, and since it’s an Ancient, expect to offer real value. My MM2 trading guide covers how to set up a trade safely.

What it looks like

It’s a crossbow built from dark stone and steel with green accents, and both the bolt and the shot line are a bright emerald green. MM2 shot lines are usually plain, so that green streak is the giveaway that someone has a Harvester. It also has its own firing sound, something only a handful of guns in the game get.

Set and history

The Harvester opened the Ancient gun lineup that continued with the Icepiercer, the Gingerscope and later the Emberbow. Its full Candy cost matched the Elderwood Scythe, another Ancient that sat at the end of a Halloween event track, so players often bring the two up together.

Two pieces of history are worth knowing:

  • Leaderboard trophies. Top players on the 2021 Halloween leaderboard got blue, bronze, silver or gold Harvesters. These are separate Unique trophy items, not the normal gun, so check the name carefully in any trade.
  • The Candleflame Glitch (2021). An exploit around that time let some players get far more items than they should have, and the Harvester was one of its main targets. Nikilis banned accounts holding suspicious stacks of it. If you see someone with an absurd pile of Harvesters, that’s a vibe worth questioning.

Demand and rarity

Demand is strong. It’s a retired Ancient, it was expensive to unlock and it’s the first gun of its kind. Ancient guns as a group sit near the top of the trading ladder. The leaderboard versions are much rarer than the normal Harvester.

I don’t post numeric values on wiki pages, because MM2 values change and the big lists don’t always agree. If you want to understand how lists differ, read how the MM2 value lists compare. My ancient values post covers the Ancient tier more broadly. kikomii value tools are on the way.

Kiko’s take: The Harvester is the gun I’d show someone who asks why MM2 players care about cosmetics. It looks mean, sounds different and has a real backstory. I wouldn’t chase a leaderboard version unless I knew exactly what I was looking at, though. Those names get abused in trade scams, so I always check the item’s label in the trade window before accepting.

FAQ

Is the Harvester still obtainable? Only through trading. The Halloween Event 2021 is over.

How many Candies did the Harvester cost? 80,000 Candies for the last tier, or 97,400 Candies for the full event track.
