Adopt Me Trading Guide: W/F/L, Value vs Demand and How Not to Get Scammed
TL;DR, bestie
- W/F/L means Win / Fair / Lose, judged by value (what a pet’s generally worth) and demand (how many people actually want it).
- A “win” on paper can be a loss if what you get is hard to trade on.
- Use a current community value list, never one the other person sends.
- Trade only inside the trade window (or the Trading Hub).
- Read the final screen before you accept.
- Never trust trade.

Adopt Me! trading is basically the stock market, if the stocks were tiny dragons and half the traders were nine. Here’s how value and demand actually work, how to tell a W from an L, and the habits that keep you from getting scammed.

Trade lingo in 30 seconds
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| W / F / L | Win / Fair / Lose, from your side |
| NFR / FR / R / F | Neon Fly Ride / Fly Ride / Ride / Fly |
| MFR | Mega Neon Fly Ride |
| Value | Roughly what an item’s worth in trades, usually from community value lists |
| Demand | How much people actually want it right now |
| Overpay / Adds | Extra items added to balance a trade |
| Upgrade / Downgrade | Trading many small items for one bigger one, or the reverse |
Value vs demand: the bit most people miss
Value is the “price tag”. Demand is whether anyone will actually take it off you.
| Pet type | Value | Demand | Easy to trade? |
|---|---|---|---|
| A popular, high-value legendary | High | High | Yes. Easy to trade on |
| An old pet with high value but few fans | High | Low | Slow. You might overpay to move it |
| A new event pet everyone wants right now | Rising | Very high | Yes, but value often changes after the event |
| Common pets | Low | Low | Only in bulk |
Rule of thumb: take high-demand items in a fair trade over low-demand items in a “win”. A win you can’t trade on is just a pet you’re stuck with.
How to judge a trade
- Look up both sides on a current community value list. Values shift with updates and events.
- Factor in demand. Is what you’re getting easy to trade on?
- Consider potions and Neon status. NFR, FR and Mega versions are worth very different amounts from no-potion pets.
- Ask yourself: do I want it? If you love the pet, a small L can still be the right trade for you.
Upgrading vs downgrading
- Upgrading (lots of small for one big) usually means overpaying a bit. People want a premium for a single “big” item.
- Downgrading (one big for lots of small) usually means getting overpaid a bit, since you’re giving up the easy-to-trade item.
Where to trade
| Place | How it works |
|---|---|
| Trade window | Click a player, then Trade. Up to 18 items each. A 5-second countdown resets whenever anything changes. Both players must accept |
| Trading Hub (added 31 Jul 2026) | Post listings and get offers across all servers. A listing costs 100 Bucks, with two at a time (a third slot is 49 Robux). Items are locked while listed |
| Backpack viewing | Ask to see the other trader’s backpack and suggest items. Set it to always allow, always ask or never in Settings |
Trade License: you need it to trade ultra-rare and legendary items. Pass the short quiz at the Safety Hub.

Scam check
Scam check:
- Trust trades: “you go first” is always a scam.
- “18+ items” promises: they say they’ll add extra items after the trade. They won’t.
- Fake value lists or screenshots. Use your own source.
- Last-second swaps: the countdown resets for a reason, so re-read the window.
- “Unfair trade” warning: Adopt Me! shows a pop-up and adds extra time on lopsided trades. Don’t click through it on autopilot.
Trades can’t be undone. Use your Trade License history to report scammers.
Habits of good traders
- Know your top 10 items’ values by heart, and recheck after each update.
- Don’t panic-trade during events. Hype pets often drop afterwards.
- Keep a list of what you’re “looking for” (LF) and “offering” (OF). It makes trading faster.
- Say no a lot. Most offers are lowballs. That’s normal.
- Trade with friends in a private server when you can. It’s calmer, there’s less pressure and fewer scammers hovering.
Kiko’s take: The best traders aren’t the ones winning every trade, they’re the ones who never lose big. Learn values and demand, never go first, and always re-read the final screen. And if a trade feels like finding a holo in a 1999 booster pack, check it twice. Then once more.

Win / Fair / Lose: whether you gain, break even or lose value in a trade.

Do I need the Trade License to trade?
Only for ultra-rare and legendary items. Pass the Safety Hub quiz to get it.
What’s the Trading Hub?
Added on 31 July 2026, it lets you post trade listings and get offers from players in any server.
