How to Make a Neon and Mega Neon Pet in Adopt Me
TL;DR, bestie
- Neon: put 4 Full Grown pets of the same type on the four circles in the Neon Cave, under the main bridge between Adoption Island and the Neighborhood. They fuse into one Neon pet.
- Mega Neon: age 4 Neons of the same type to Luminous (Neon Full Grown) and fuse them the same way.
That’s 16 regular pets for one Mega. Only one of them needs Fly or Ride for the result to keep it. Age-Up Potions (30 tasks each) and Pet Pens speed it all up.

Mega Neons are the Holo Charizard of Adopt Me!, minus the cardboard. Making one is a grind, but it’s a simple grind once you know the math. Here’s the exact process, how many tasks it takes per rarity, and how to cut the time down.
Step 1: Get four Full Grown pets of the same type
Neons need four of the same pet (four Dogs, four Unicorns, and so on), all at Full Grown. They don’t need to be the same Fly/Ride status.
Pets age through six stages by completing tasks (ailments):

These are the current numbers, which have been lower since the September 2025 rebalance. A Neon pet takes the same number of tasks to go from Reborn to Luminous as a regular pet of the same rarity.
Step 2: Fuse them in the Neon Cave
- Head to the Neon Cave, under the main bridge between Adoption Island and the Neighborhood. Nixie is the NPC there.
- Walk through to the platform with the four glowing circles.
- Place one Full Grown pet on each circle.
- Confirm. They combine into one Neon (Reborn) pet.
The glow color is unique to each species. Some pets, like the Parrot and Unicorn, glow in multiple colors.
Step 3: Make a Mega Neon
- Make four Neons of the same type. That’s 16 regular pets.
- Age each Neon to Luminous.
- Fuse all four in the Neon Cave, just like Step 2.
The result is a Mega Neon, which glows in the same areas as a Neon but cycles through rainbow colors (there are a few exceptions).

That’s why trading for already-grown pets is so popular.
Fly and Ride: you only need one
If any one of the pets you fuse has Fly and/or Ride, the Neon (or Mega) inherits it. For a Mega Neon Fly Ride, you only need 1 of the 16 pets to be Fly Ride. Or add it later with a Ride-A-Pet Potion or Fly-A-Pet Potion after fusing.
Pets that can’t go Neon
Pet Rock, Scoob, Pumpkin, Burtaur and MFR Sandwich can’t be made into Neons. Basically the non-tradable novelty pets.
How to age pets faster

Pro tip: one Age-Up Potion is more than a whole Common’s journey (25 tasks), but only a sixth of a Legendary’s (183). So hold your potions for the high-rarity pets, where the grind hurts most, and age Commons the normal way.
Kiko’s take: A Mega Neon is the most satisfying flex in Adopt Me!, and also the most “is it worth it?” grind. My advice: Mega the pet you actually love, not the one with the highest value. Doing 3,000+ tasks for a pet you’re going to trade away is a choice. Would I trade my Tamagotchi for a Mega Neon Shadow Dragon? Don’t ask questions you know the answer to.
