Frost Dragon in Adopt Me: The Icy Robux Legendary, Tricks and Neon

TL;DR, bestie

  • The Frost Dragon is a Legendary Adopt Me! pet released on 20 December 2019, during Christmas 2019.
  • It was sold for 1,000 Robux for a limited time. It’s been off-sale ever since, so trading is the only way to get one.
  • It uses the same body shape as the Shadow Dragon, but in icy blue with ram horns and a blue smoky trail.
  • The Full Grown trick is Frost Breath. Neon glows light blue, and Mega Neon cycles rainbow colors.

🗓️ Last updated: 5 November 2026

The Frost Dragon is the winter answer to the Shadow Dragon. It came out about two months after Halloween 2019 and made the “retired Robux dragon” club a two-pet club. If you’ve ever seen a server where everyone is riding something blue and glowing, you’ve probably already met it.

How to get the Frost Dragon

Back in December 2019, you just paid Robux and it was yours. That window closed a long time ago, and Uplift hasn’t brought it back, so today the only real route is a trade. You’ll need a Trade License first, which comes from a short quiz in the game.

Two practical tips from my own trading:

  • Know which version you’re being offered. A normal Frost Dragon, a Neon and a Mega Neon are different tiers of demand, and Fly/Ride potions on top change things again.
  • Don’t trade outside the trade window. The pet appears in the window, both sides accept, done. Anything else is a red flag. My trading guide walks through the basics.

What it looks like

The Frost Dragon shares its mesh with the Shadow Dragon, so the silhouette will look familiar: long neck, big wings, spiky back. It swaps the dark purple for pale icy blue, adds curled ram horns and drops the ribcage look. It also leaves a soft blue smoke behind it, which is a nice touch when you ride it.

Ages, Neon and Mega Neon

Its tricks unlock in this order: Sit, Lay Down, Jump, Joy, Dive and Frost Breath at Full Grown. Frost Breath is my favorite Full Grown trick in the dragon family, since it looks like the pet is actually doing something instead of just flipping.

The Neon Frost Dragon glows light blue across its wings, spikes, eyes, horns, feet, teeth and tongue. It’s a lot of glow, and it works because the base color is already so pale. The Mega Neon cycles through rainbow colors on the same spots. Uplift has tweaked how the Mega glow looks a few times over the years, so older screenshots don’t always match what you’ll see in-game today.

The fusing steps are the same as for every pet (four Full Grown for a Neon, four Luminous Neons for a Mega), and they’re laid out in my Neon guide. Raising a Legendary takes a while, so the age-up guide helps too.

Demand and rarity

The Frost Dragon has very high demand, and it’s held up for years. It’s retired, it was locked behind Robux instead of an in-game currency, and it’s one of the most recognizable pets in Adopt Me!. Neons are scarcer than normal ones, and Megas are scarcer still.

I’m not going to print a number here, because trade values move all the time and different lists rarely agree. For context on how demand shifts, my Adopt Me value list post explains how to read value lists without getting fooled. kikomii value tools are on the way.

Kiko’s take: If the Bat Dragon is the fun one, the Frost Dragon is the classy one. It’s clean, readable and looks good next to almost any pet, which is probably why it never really goes out of style. I’d only trade for one if I knew exactly which version I was getting, because “Frost Dragon” in someone’s trade ad can mean anything from a fresh Newborn to a potioned Mega.

FAQ

Can I still buy the Frost Dragon with Robux? No. It was only on sale for a limited time in Christmas 2019.

Is the Frost Dragon the same as the Shadow Dragon? They share a body shape, but they’re different pets with different colors, horns and Full Grown tricks.

What is the Frost Dragon’s Full Grown trick? Frost Breath.
