Roblox has its own language, and it moves fast. One minute you’re nodding along, the next your kid is saying they got “griefed by a tryhard on a public server” and you’re wondering whether to call someone. Here are 60 terms that come up again and again. Some are official Roblox features and some are player slang. Game-specific words live in my Adopt Me glossary and MM2 glossary.

Scam check
Scam check: the scariest words on this list are #55–#58. “Free Robux” generators, “trust trades”, “admin” messages and paste-this-script tricks are all ways to steal items or accounts. See my free Robux scams and trading scams guides for how each one works.

|---|---|---|
| 55 | Scam / scammer | Someone tricking players out of items, Robux or accounts |

| 57 | Phishing | Fake login pages or links that steal passwords |
| 58 | Trust trade | “Give me yours first, I’ll give mine after.” It almost always ends with nothing coming back |
| 59 | Connections | Roblox’s current word for friends on the platform |
| 60 | Report / block | Built-in tools that flag bad behavior and stop someone contacting you |
How to use this with your kids
- Ask them to teach you. Kids love explaining “W/F/L”, and you’ll learn how they play.
- Watch for the risky words. “Trust trade”, “script”, “free Robux” and “admin” are your cue to check in.
- Check the settings together. My parental controls guide covers spending limits, chat and who they can connect with.
Kiko’s take: Learning Roblox slang is a bit like learning Y2K text speak all over again. It looks like gibberish at first, then one day you catch yourself saying “GG” after a family board game. You don’t need all 60 memorized. Knowing the money and safety words puts you ahead of most parents.
