Roblox Gift Cards: Where to Buy, How to Redeem and Which Value to Pick
TL;DR, bestie
- Buy Roblox gift cards from the official Roblox store (roblox.com/shopgiftcards, sold through Roblox’s partner CashStar) or a reputable retailer. Never from a stranger, a marketplace reseller or a “discount” site.
- Redeem at roblox.com/redeem in a web browser. The normal mobile app and consoles can’t redeem, though the Samsung Galaxy app can.
- Which value? Pick a card that covers what they actually want, plus a little buffer.
- Cards work worldwide and convert to your account’s currency, but Roblox doesn’t refund gift cards.

Roblox gift cards are the classic birthday-present move: no card details on a kid’s account, a fixed budget, and genuine joy. Here’s where to buy them safely, how to redeem them, and how to pick the right value.

Where to buy Roblox gift cards safely
| Where | Physical or digital | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Roblox’s own gift card store (roblox.com/shopgiftcards) | Digital | Sold through Roblox’s partner CashStar. CashStar handles support for these orders |
| Big-name retailers (in Australia, for example, JB Hi-Fi, EB Games, Amazon Australia and Costco list them) | Both | Buy from the retailer itself, not a third-party seller |
| NZ gift card retailers | Usually digital | Check that the store is reputable and lists Roblox as an official card |
Avoid:
- Cards sold by people, whether on marketplaces, in Discord or in game chats. They’re often stolen, already used, or fake.
- “Discount” cards at 30–50% off from sites you’ve never heard of.
- Anyone who asks you to pay them in gift cards. That’s a scam, every time.
What a Roblox gift card gives you
A gift card adds credit to the account. You can spend it on Robux or a Roblox Plus subscription (Plus can be bought with gift card credit on the redeem page). Many cards also come with a free virtual item.
One exception: Amazon gift cards and Party Pack gift cards can only be redeemed for Robux, not credit.

Which value should you pick?
Card values depend on the country and the retailer. In NZ and Australia you’ll commonly see options like $10, $25 and $50, with bigger amounts at some stores. To choose:
| If they want… | Pick |
|---|---|
| One game pass or a small item | The smallest card that covers it |
| A month of Roblox Plus | A card that covers the Plus price in your currency |
| Saving up for something specific | Check the price in Robux, then go one card size up |
| “Just Robux” for a birthday | Your budget. No card gives “extra” Robux beyond the standard rates |
Tip: ask your kid to show you the actual item and its Robux price before you buy. It’s a great money conversation, and it stops the “I need 10,000 Robux” spiral.
How to redeem (short version)
- Go to roblox.com/redeem in a browser (phone, tablet or computer).
- Log in to your child’s account.
- Enter the code and select Redeem.
You’ll see a confirmation once the credit is added. You can redeem as many cards as you like, one at a time.
Gift card vs buying Robux directly
| Gift card | Buying in the app or on the site | |
|---|---|---|
| Needs a saved payment card | No | Yes, or an app store account |
| Fixed budget | Yes, the card value | Only if you set a spending limit |
| Works as a present | Yes, physical or emailed | Not really |
| Free virtual item | Often included | Not usually |
| Refundable | No | Depends on the store and payment method |
For younger kids, a card plus a monthly spending limit of 0 is a tidy combo. They can redeem cards you give them, and nothing else gets charged.
Giving a digital card as a present
- Send the e-gift to your own email, not your child’s, so you control when the code appears.
- Write the code on a card, or print the e-gift, for the birthday-morning moment.
- Redeem it together. It takes two minutes and you’ll know it’s on the right account.
Gift cards and parental controls
- A monthly spending limit doesn’t block gift card redemption. Redeeming a card is always allowed.
- If your linked parent account has spending notifications turned on, you’ll still see what the credit gets spent on.
- Gift cards are a nice way to set a budget without saving a payment card on your child’s device.
Kiko’s take: Gift cards are the low-drama way to do Robux: fixed amount, no stored card, and an easy budgeting lesson. Buy from a real store, redeem it with your kid in the browser, and agree on what it’s for before the code goes in. The only gift card that isn’t fine is the one someone asks you to pay them with.

FAQ
Can I redeem a Roblox gift card from another country?
Yes. Roblox says codes can be redeemed worldwide. The value converts to the account’s local currency.
Can I get a refund on a Roblox gift card?
No. Roblox doesn’t refund gift cards, so double-check which account you’re redeeming on.
Why can’t I find “redeem” in the Roblox app?
Most apps and consoles can’t redeem cards. Use a web browser at roblox.com/redeem (the Samsung Galaxy app is the exception).
Do gift cards include free items?
Many do. Check the card or listing for the current free virtual item.
