The Hallowscythe is what you get when a halberd and a scythe agree to share custody of one handle. Black, gray and very orange, it’s the most “pumpkin season” Ancient in the game. It came from MM2’s strangest Halloween, the one with two parts and a Piggy-style game mode, and it’s still one of the easiest Ancients to recognize from across the map.

How to get the Hallowscythe
During Halloween 2020, you climbed the Main Event tiers with Candies. At the 30th tier, the Traveler showed up with a very theatrical offer: the Hallowscythe for 80,000 Candies. The screenshot below shows that exact pop-up.
Once the event ended on 22 November 2020, the offer disappeared for good. Trading is your only option now. Before you start, read my MM2 trading guide, and check the MM2 scams list so you know what fake “middleman” trades look like.
What it looks like
It has a long, thin handle, and the head mixes three weapons into one: a scythe blade, a small axe edge and a beak-like point on the top. The handle, the upper half of the blade, the axe edge and the middle of the head are black. The connecting pieces are gray. The other half of the scythe, the axe, the pommel and the top are bright orange. It reads as Halloween from about a mile away.
Set and history
The Hallowscythe partners with the Hallowgun, a Godly revolver from the 2020 Halloween Box. It’s gray and silver with an orange-to-yellow barrel wrapped in three spikes. Together they’re the Hallow Set.
A bit of context on the event itself:
- Two parts. Halloween 2020 is the only MM2 event that came in two parts. Part 2 was “Scary Mode”, a separate game mode inspired by Piggy that opened through a portal in the Halloween lobby on 7 November 2020.
- Event-track Ancient. It follows the Elderwood Scythe and the Logchopper as an Ancient sold at the end of an event track.
- Designer. Both the Hallowscythe and the Hallowgun were designed by IDontHaveAUse.
It’s also one of MM2’s few scythes, alongside the Batwing, Nik’s Scythe, Icewing, the Elderwood Scythe, Reaver and Gingerscythe.
Demand and rarity
Demand is moderate and steady. It’s an off-sale Ancient with a strong seasonal look, so interest tends to pick up every October and cool off after. It’s usually seen as one of the more reachable Ancients rather than a top-shelf chase item. The full Hallow Set is more sought after than the knife alone.

Kiko’s take: The Hallowscythe is the Ancient I’d recommend for anyone who just wants something that screams Halloween. It’s bold, it’s readable in a fast round, and it doesn’t cost the earth compared to the top Ancients. My one tip: trade for it outside October if you can. Pumpkin-season hype makes everything orange more expensive, like a seasonal latte.
