Batwing in MM2: The 2,499 Robux Ancient That Started It All
TL;DR, bestie
- Batwing is an Ancient knife in Murder Mystery 2. It was sold in the Batwing Gamepass for 2,499 Robux during the Halloween Event 2018.
- The gamepass is long gone, so trading is the only way to get one.
- It was the first Ancient ever sold in the shop, and the first Ancient that stayed Ancient.
- No official partner gun, but players love pairing it with the Godly Darkbringer.

Batwing is basically MM2 history you can swing. It’s a scythe with blades made from a bat’s wings, it launched as a paid Halloween pass back in 2018, and it went through more drama in its first week than most knives see in a lifetime. If you see one in a lobby today, the owner either paid up in 2018 or traded hard for it.

How to get Batwing
During Halloween 2018, Nikilis put out the Batwing Gamepass for 2,499 Robux. It was the first item pack in the game with only one item inside, and that one item was the knife. The Halloween 2018 event ran from late October to 12 November 2018, and the pass has been off-sale for years.
Today the only route is trading. Because it’s an Ancient with a famous backstory, expect owners to ask for a lot. Before you offer anything, read my MM2 trading guide and the MM2 scams list. Batwing is exactly the kind of item fake “giveaways” use as bait.
What it looks like
It’s a long, thin black handle with a small curved grip at the bottom, complete with little finger nubs. At the top, the blade clamp is shaped like a bat with a red crystal on its head. The blades themselves are the bat’s red-and-black wings, which is where the name comes from. The model was based on the Roblox catalog gear called the Bat Scythe, so if it looks familiar from the avatar shop, that’s why.
It’s one of only a handful of scythes in MM2, alongside Nik’s Scythe, Icewing, the Elderwood Scythe, the Hallowscythe, Reaver and Gingerscythe.
Set and history
Batwing doesn’t have an official partner gun. Players usually pair it with the Godly Darkbringer because the black and red colors match, but the game doesn’t treat them as a set.
The history is the fun part:
- It started as Nikilis’s own item. Batwing was exclusive to the developer before it was released to the public. That’s why his gift-only Nik’s Scythe is a teal reskin of it.
- First Ancient in the shop. Flames was technically an Ancient first, but it was later moved down to Godly. Batwing is the first Ancient that stayed Ancient.
- The 2018 dupe. Right after release, Batwing was mass duplicated. Nikilis responded by turning the duped copies into Glitch1, a Common knife. Imagine buying a scythe and waking up with a Common. Brutal.
- Later dupes. It was a big target in the duping glitches of 2021 and 2022 too.
Demand and rarity
Demand is good and steady. It’s an off-sale Ancient with a recognizable look and a real place in the game’s history. Collectors want it for the story, and casual players want it because it looks cool next to a Darkbringer. The dupes over the years mean it’s not as scarce as it was in 2018, though.
I don’t post numeric trade values on wiki pages. MM2 values move and the big lists disagree. My Ancient values post covers the whole Ancient tier, and this comparison explains why the lists differ. kikomii value tools are on the way.
Kiko’s take: Batwing is the Ancient I’d show someone to explain why MM2 trading got so intense. It’s pretty, it’s old and it survived a dupe purge. If you’re trading for one, ask for proof it’s the real Batwing in the trade window, not a lookalike knife with a similar name. And skip any “free Batwing” link. That’s a scam, every single time.
