How to Get Candy Fast in 99 Nights in the Forest
TL;DR, bestie
The fastest proven way to get Candy in 99 Nights in the Forest is trick-or-treating in full matching costumes. That’s 8 Candy per knock, compared with 1 per piece for a mismatched outfit. Light two or three nearby houses with Halloween Candles in daylight, build a Costume Closet on Day 1, and use Fancy Dressed (30 Candy) if you’re farming a lot. The Ghost Ranger costs 1,000 Candy, which is about 125 full-set knocks, so start now. The current Hedge Maze Refresh ends Sat 7 Nov: 2:30am PT / 5:30am ET / 10:30am GMT / 9:30pm AEDT / 11:30pm NZDT.

You’ve seen the Ghost Ranger price tag and done the math, and it’s a lot of Candy. Here’s how to farm it efficiently this week, what’s confirmed for 2026, and which “extra” sources came from last year’s rules.

How much Candy do you actually need?
| Goal | Candy | Full-set knocks (8 each) |
|---|---|---|
| Fancy Dressed class | 30 | 4 |
| Candy Corn Bunny | 80 | 10 |
| Vampire Alpha Wolf | 200 | 25 |
| Ghost Ranger class | 1,000 | 125 |
| Witch class | 900 in 2025 (2026 price unconfirmed) | about 113 at the 2025 price |
The good news is that Candy carries over between runs and you don’t lose it when you die. Every knock counts, even in a run that goes badly.
Method 1: full-set trick-or-treating (the main one)
| What you’re wearing | Candy per knock |
|---|---|
| Nothing | 0 (guaranteed Trick) |
| 4 mismatched pieces | 4 |
| 3 pieces, 2 matching | 4 |
| Full matching set | 8 |
The routine:
- Day 1: build the Costume Closet (3 Wood at the Crafting Bench). Pieces then store themselves automatically.
- Daylight: open purple Costume Boxes and chests, and fight wolves and cultists for pieces. Collect Halloween Candles from chests and cultists.
- Before dusk: light two or three houses close together by dropping a Candle at each door.
- Sort sets at the Closet. Don’t wear a nearly complete set as random pieces.
- Night: knock, swap to a fresh set (pieces are used up every knock) and move on to the next house.
Houses go on cooldown after a visit and reset later, so long runs can revisit the same cluster. Every set is explained in my costume guide.
Make each knock count
- Fancy Dressed (30 Candy) boosts costume-piece drops first, then Treat odds, then extra Candy per knock. It pays for itself quickly if you’re farming for the Ghost Ranger.
- Night routes beat long walks. Three close houses in one night beats one far house, every time.
- Bring friends or tamed animals. Wolves still spawn at night, and dying mid-route wastes a dusk.

Method 2: the smaller, one-off sources
The community wiki lists these Candy sources. They’re from Halloween 2025, and I haven’t been able to confirm that each one works the same way in 2026, so treat them as nice-to-haves:
| Source | 2025 payout | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Asking Happy in the lobby (a specific dialog order) | 3 Candy, once | “I have a question” → “Who are you?” → “How do you stay so happy?” → “can I have some candy?” |
| Lobby candy hunt | Up to 3 Candy | Scattered around the lobby |
| Carnival games | 5 per win, once per run | 2026’s maze games pay Carnival Tickets for the Vampire Scythe or Cloak, so the Candy payout may have changed |
| Hedge Maze Halloween chests | 4 per chest | 2025 maze rules |
| Potion Making | 5 for everyone in the server per brew | A 2025 mechanic. Not confirmed this year |
Is trick-or-treating still on this week?
Here’s where I have to be honest. Fan guides written during Part 1 said Halloween activities would run “through 31 October”. Then the Hedge Maze Refresh arrived with a 1,000-Candy class in Happy’s shop, running until 7 November. I haven’t seen a clear statement on whether decorated houses still accept knocks during maze week. If your run has lit-up houses and costume boxes, farm them hard. If it doesn’t, the maze and the one-off sources are what’s left. Check in your first run before planning a 125-knock grind.
Kiko’s take: Real talk: 1,000 Candy in a week is a big ask for most players. If you’re starting from zero, aim for something reachable, like Fancy Dressed and the Alpha Wolf. Only commit to the Ghost Ranger if you already have a decent stash and a farming buddy. Don’t let FOMO ruin your weekend. It’s a game, not a Y2K countdown.
Scam check
“Infinite Candy” scripts, generators and “Candy for Robux” sellers are scams or bannable. Often both. The only legit Candy codes go in through the game’s Codes button. The 2025 “happyhalloween” code has expired, and the working codes are on my codes page.
