School roleplay in Brookhaven is a classic for a reason: everyone already knows the script. Bells, homework, a strict teacher, the kid who’s always late. The trick is giving it a story so it doesn’t fizzle out after roll call. Here’s every room you can use, the jobs to grab, and ten plots with a twist.

The school at a glance
| Room | What’s in it | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Math class | Desks, chairs, books, a teacher’s desk and an editable whiteboard | Pop quizzes, “show your working” |
| English class | Similar layout with a custom board | Book reports and spelling bees |
| Science class | Smaller room with chemistry tables | Experiments that go wrong |
| Art class | Two canvases, painting supplies, a beige carpet | Art shows and messy projects |
| Study Hall/Detention | A teacher’s desk and one big shared table | Detention drama |
| Gym | Switches between Basketball, Dance, Meeting, Gymnastics and Pool | PE, school dances, assemblies |
| Soccer field | Behind the gym, with two nets and a ball rack | Sports day |
| Cafeteria | Two long tables, chips, drinks and fruit | Lunchtime gossip |
| Auditorium | Three rows of seats, a stage with swappable themes, a backstage and a lighting room | School plays and talent shows |
| Principal’s Office | A desk, a bookshelf, a guest chair and a mysterious red button | Getting “sent to the office” |
| Teacher Lounge | Couch, desk and coffee machine | Teachers-only gossip |
| Janitor’s Closet | Bunk bed, sink, mop and a “NO STUDENTS ALLOWED” door | Secret hideouts |
Hidden bonus: behind the auditorium there’s a ladder to the roof, which leads over to the skatepark.
Jobs to grab
| Role | Job | Where to find it |
|---|---|---|
| Teacher | Teacher (free) | Avatar menu, Jobs, Family group |
| Student | Student (free) | Same place |
| Head of school | Principal (free) | Same place |
| Caretaker | Janitor (free) | Service jobs |
| School run | Driver or Taxi Driver (free) | Service jobs |
A job icon floats above your head, so everyone can tell who’s in charge. (Whether they listen is another story.)

Setting up a good school RP
- Write the timetable on a whiteboard: Math, then lunch, then Art.
- Pick one teacher per class and one Principal. Too many teachers is chaos.
- Use the gym switch for big moments, such as Dance mode for the formal or Meeting mode for assembly.
- Agree a bell. Someone announces “BELL!” in chat, or uses a private server announcement if you’ve got one.
Ten school roleplay plots
1. The new kid. A student transfers mid-term and nobody shows them where the classes are. Twist: they’re the Principal’s kid.
2. Pop quiz panic. The Math teacher writes a surprise test on the board. Twist: the answers are hidden in the Teacher Lounge.
3. Science fair. Students present “experiments” in the Science room. Twist: one actually works, and the room has to be evacuated.
4. The school play. Auditions, rehearsals and opening night in the auditorium. Twist: the lead gets stage fright, so the janitor steps in.
5. Detention club. Five very different students stuck in Study Hall. Twist: they find out they all have something in common.
6. Sports day. Soccer on the field, basketball in the gym. Twist: the teachers challenge the students.
7. The school formal. The gym is set to Dance mode, with outfits and a DJ. Twist: a power cut (a private server’s Darkness lighting is perfect).
8. The red button. Someone presses the button in the Principal’s Office. Twist: nobody knows what it did, and everyone is a suspect.
9. Lunchtime trading. Swapping chips and drinks in the cafeteria. Twist: the cafeteria runs out of fruit, and a “fruit black market” begins.
10. The haunted auditorium. Strange noises from backstage after school. Twist: it’s just the janitor, who lives in the closet (the bunk bed explains a lot).
Keep it fun
- Rotate roles. Everyone gets a turn at being the strict teacher.
- Keep it kind. “Bully” plots can get mean fast. If you do one, give it a redemption arc.
- No real school names or locations, ever. Keep it make-believe.
- For a calmer class, use a private server (see my private server guide).
Kiko’s take: I lived for the school bell in the Y2K era, mostly because it meant Tamagotchi check time. Brookhaven school RP scratches the same itch. My top tip: let the Principal be slightly unhinged. Calling the whole school to the auditorium for an assembly about “the missing stapler” is peak roleplay.
