How to Use a Private Server in Brookhaven

TL;DR, bestie

  • A Brookhaven private server costs 100 Robux a month, or comes free with Roblox Plus.
  • Create one from the game’s page on Roblox: Servers, then Private Servers, then Create.
  • You get: more props, up to 3 vehicles at once, no house cooldown, 3 prop save slots and Freecam.
  • The control panel sets time, day, weather and sky. It also lets you kick, ban or make players admin, and send server announcements.
  • Best for: friends-only roleplay, filming, building and younger players.

🗓️ Last updated: 1 November 2026 — Roblox Plus now covers one free private server per game (a change Roblox made on 24 September 2026); extra servers are paid separately

Public Brookhaven servers are chaotic in the best and worst ways. Someone’s always blowing up a house. A private server is your own copy of the town where only people you invite can join, and you control everything from the weather to who’s allowed to place props. Here’s how to set one up and use every button.

Roblox prices can vary by region and platform, so check the number on the Create button before you confirm. If it’s a kid’s account, a grown-up should make the call, as it’s a recurring payment.

How to create a Brookhaven private server

  1. Open Brookhaven RP on the Roblox website or app (not inside the game).
  2. Go to the Servers tab and find Private Servers.
  3. Tap Create Private Server, give it a name and confirm the payment.
  4. Your server now appears in that list. Tap Join to play.

Inviting friends: open your server’s Configure settings to allow friends to join, or generate a private invite link to share with people you know. Turn the link off (or make a new one) if it ever ends up somewhere public.

Canceling: in the same Configure menu, turn off the subscription. The server stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for.

The Private Server Control Panel

When you join your own server, two extra buttons appear in the bottom left, next to Settings. The first opens the control panel, which has four tabs.

Time & Day

  • Move time forward or back by one hour.
  • Pick the day of the week.
  • Pause time, or change its speed: 0.25x, 0.33x, 0.5x, normal, 2x, 3x or 4x.

Weather

Weather effectsRaining, Flood, Snowing, Snow on Ground

There’s also a toggle to hide the bubble UI, which is handy for screenshots.

Props/Players

A list of everyone in the server, with buttons to:

  • Admin: give someone access to the control panel.
  • Kick: remove them instantly.
  • Ban: stop them rejoining until the server restarts.
  • Props: turn their prop-placing on or off.

At the bottom: Show Props Names (see who placed what), Lock Props and Remove Props (clear everything).

Server

  • Server Announcement: a message to everyone, up to 100 characters, shown for 3, 5, 10 or 25 seconds.
  • Server Music: play a track for the whole server (you need the Music Unlocked gamepass). Players can still mute it.
  • Server Theme: one theme everyone sees.
  • Vehicles in World: show or hide the cars parked around the map.

The Server Prop Manager

The second button opens the Prop Manager. It’s a list of every prop in the server, which you can filter by player. Use the eye icon to find a prop and the bin icon to delete it. The killer feature is 3 save slots: build your perfect café or film set, save it, and load it back next time in seconds.

Five great ways to use your server

  1. Friends-only family roleplay with no randoms barging in.
  2. Filming: Freecam, hidden UI, frozen time and a custom sky are a YouTuber’s dream.
  3. A spooky night: Darkness plus fog plus an announcement that says “the power’s out…”
  4. Snow day: Snowing plus Snow on Ground, at any time of year.
  5. Big builds: a higher prop limit and save slots mean you can build across several sessions.

Kiko’s take: My first private server was a 4x-speed day-night cycle and a fake weather report for a “storm of the century” roleplay. It felt like running my own MySpace page in 2006: total control, slightly too much power. If you’re a parent, this is genuinely the safest way for little ones to play Brookhaven.
