Treadmill in Steal An Egg: All 12 Tiers, Speed per Step and Costs

TL;DR, bestie

  • The Treadmill is how you train Speed in Steal An Egg. Stand on it and you gain Speed with every step, even while AFK.
  • The community wiki lists 12 treadmills, from the free Base Treadmill (+2 Speed per step) to the Guardian Treadmill (+8.5k per step).
  • Each upgrade costs in-game cash, starting at 15K for the Sci-Fi Treadmill and climbing into the quadrillions.
  • Upgrade when the next tier is affordable without starving your other upgrades. Treadmill plus trails plus income is the whole Speed recipe.

Speed decides which biomes you can reach and whether you get home with your egg, and the Treadmill is where that Speed comes from. My speed guide explains biome gates and trails. This page is the reference for the Treadmill itself: every tier, what it gives you and what it costs.

How it works

You stand on the Treadmill and run. Each step adds Speed, and the amount depends on which Treadmill you own. Better Treadmills cost more cash but give far more Speed per step. Your Speed is what gets you past each biome’s gate, helps you outrun Guardians and keeps you moving while carrying heavy eggs.

K is thousand, M million, B billion, T trillion and Qa quadrillion. Steal An Egg numbers get silly fast. Costs can change with updates, so the shop tag in the game always wins.

Step by step: upgrading the smart way

  1. Get your income going first. The Treadmill is paid for with cash, and cash comes from your pets. My best pets by income list helps.
  2. Buy the next tier when it costs about the same as a few minutes of income. Early tiers pay for themselves quickly.
  3. AFK on your best Treadmill. Before you log off or step away, park yourself on it.
  4. Pair it with a trail. Trails multiply your movement on top of Treadmill Speed. Both matter.
  5. Test a gate with a light egg before you carry something heavy through it.

Tips

  • Big jumps happen in the middle. Going from Celebrity (+30) to Golden (+80) more than doubles your gain per step. That’s one of the best upgrades for the money.
  • The Guardian jump is huge. From Astral (+3k) to Guardian (+8.5k) is almost triple, which is why late-game players chase it.
  • Rift boosts stack with your grind. The Rift Event Boss Shop sells temporary Treadmill boosters for Boss Tokens.
  • Gamepasses won’t help here. Neither Steal An Egg gamepass raises Speed directly.

Common mistakes

  • Buying a Treadmill you can barely afford. If it wipes out your cash, you can’t buy trails or pets, and your progress stalls.
  • Training only while active. The Treadmill works AFK. Leaving it idle is wasted Speed.
  • Trusting “infinite Speed” scripts. They get accounts banned. Real Speed comes from the Treadmill, trails and income.
  • Not unlocking it early. New players sometimes run around for ages before setting up the Treadmill. My speed guide covers how it unlocks.

Kiko’s take: The Treadmill is the most Tamagotchi-like thing in Steal An Egg: set it up, walk away, come back to progress. My advice is simple. Never skip an affordable tier early, and always log off on your best one. The Golden Treadmill is the moment the game starts to feel fast, so that’s the first big goal I’d aim for.
