Music in Brookhaven: The Music Pass, Boombox and Volume Controls

TL;DR, bestie

  • Music in Brookhaven needs the Music Unlocked game pass: 199 Robux, one time (official store price, checked 6 November 2026).
  • You get a built-in catalog of 300+ songs, playable in houses, estates, apartments, vehicles, boats and props, including the Boombox.
  • Controls: play/pause, next, previous, a search bar, and volume from 0 to 100 in steps of 5 (or type an exact number).
  • Private servers have global music that plays in sync for everyone in the server.

A roleplay without music is just people standing in a kitchen. Brookhaven’s music system fixes that, and it’s one of the features I use most. If you’re wondering about the old “music codes”, I explain what happened to them in my Brookhaven codes post. This page is about how the current system actually works: where it plays, every control, and how to get the most out of it.

How it works

Buy Music Unlocked once and the music menu opens up everywhere it’s supported. You don’t paste IDs anymore. You pick songs from the in-game catalog, which has over 300 tracks and a search bar so you’re not scrolling forever.

Where music plays

  • Houses, estates and apartments, so your place has its own soundtrack.
  • Vehicles and boats, for the road-trip or yacht-party RP.
  • Props, including the Boombox.

The Boombox, two ways

There’s a Boombox prop you can place, which gives you an interactive button to start music from that spot. There’s also a Boombox tool. Hold it and music plays for you wherever you walk, as long as it’s equipped.

Jett’s songs

Three special “Jett’s songs” sit at the top of the catalog, and they can be played globally. If you’ve ever wondered why everyone seems to know the same three tracks, that’s why.

Private servers

Private servers get global music, which plays the same song in sync for every player in the server. That’s perfect for a dance, a concert RP or a school assembly. My private server guide covers how to set one up.

Step by step: play your first song

  1. Buy Music Unlocked from the in-game Store. Check that it says 199 Robux.
  2. Go to your house, hop in a car or equip the Boombox.
  3. Open the music button.
  4. Use search to find a song, or scroll the catalog.
  5. Press play, then use next and previous to build a queue as you go.
  6. Set the volume. Tap the plus or minus buttons to move in steps of 5, or type an exact number from 0 to 100.

Tips

  • Keep it at 30 to 50 in public servers. Loud enough for vibes, quiet enough that people don’t leave.
  • Match the song to the scene. Something calm for a family dinner, upbeat for a pool party. It makes RP feel planned.
  • Use the Boombox tool for walk-and-talk scenes. It goes where you go.
  • Pair music with props. A speaker prop and a dance floor turn any plot into a club. My Props page explains placing and saving builds.
  • Host events in a private server so everyone hears the same song at the same moment.

Common mistakes

  • Searching for music codes. The current system uses the built-in catalog. Old Roblox audio IDs won’t work.
  • Downloading “music player scripts”. These are exploits. They can get your account banned and often come with malware.
  • Blasting volume 100 in a public server. It’s the fastest way to clear a room.
  • Buying the wrong pass. Music is its own pass. VIP and Premium don’t replace it, so read the name before you buy.

Kiko’s take: Music Unlocked is the best value pass in Brookhaven for me. It’s 199 Robux once, and it makes every roleplay better. If you only buy one thing in this game, I’d make it this. It’s the difference between a silent movie and a mixtape, and I’m old enough to remember making those by holding a recorder up to the radio.
