Medic Class in 99 Nights in the Forest: Perks, Cost and Is It Worth It?

TL;DR, bestie

  • Cost: 40 Diamonds in the lobby class shop.
  • What you get: you spawn with 2 Bandages, and you revive teammates 5× faster from level 1.
  • Levels: level 2 makes your revives restore more health and hunger. Level 3 turns one starting Bandage into a Medkit.
  • Worth it? Yes for team players, as a cheap support pick. Skip it if you mostly play solo, because the revive perks need teammates.

The Medic is one of the original 99 Nights classes, and it’s one of the cheapest. Its job is simple: keep your squad alive. Two Bandages in your pocket from minute one can save a run that would otherwise end with a teammate down on night 3. Here’s everything it does, how to level it, and whether your 40 Diamonds should go here.

Leveling the Medic

Classes level up by completing tasks while you play as them. The Medic’s tasks are about healing and finding supplies:

LevelTasks
Level 2Find 30 Medical Supplies and revive 25 players
Level 3Find 50 Medical Supplies and revive 40 players

It’s one of the slower classes to level because it depends on your map’s loot and on teammates actually going down. Playing regularly with the same friends helps a lot.

Why the Bandages matter so much

Bandages are rare, and a downed teammate needs one to be revived. Starting with two means your team has a safety net from the very first day, before anyone has found medical loot. The community advice is to save them for revives in team games rather than using them to heal yourself.

ItemWhat it does
BandageRevives a downed teammate, or heals you for around half your health
MedkitHeals you to full

At level 3, swapping one Bandage for a Medkit makes little difference in team games, but it’s handy in solo play, where a full heal can rescue a bad night.

Talents for the Medic

Classes can also roll Talents: random perks borrowed from other classes, bought with Diamonds (40 for the first roll, 25 for rerolls on the Medic). Community favorites for the Medic include reduced hunger drain, extra health regen, and the top-tier auto-revive after your first death. Talents are random, so don’t count on landing a specific one.

Playing Medic well: a simple game plan

  1. Day 1: gather like everyone else. Don’t spend a Bandage on yourself.
  2. Stay near the action on raid nights and when your team is clearing dangerous areas, so you can reach people who go down quickly.
  3. Loot medical supplies whenever you see them. They count towards your levels and keep the team stocked.
  4. Call it out when you’re out of Bandages, so the team plays safer until you find more.
  5. Don’t die first. A Medic who goes down early can’t help anyone, so let the fighters take the risky jobs.

Other classes that start with a Bandage

The Medic isn’t the only class with a Bandage in its starting kit. The Support and Undead classes also spawn with one. The Medic’s edge is the second Bandage plus the 5× revive speed, which is why it’s the go-to support pick for most squads.

Is the Medic worth it?

If you play with friends, yes. It’s one of the best-value early buys, and “one Medic per team” is common advice. Beyond that, a second Medic adds little. If you mostly play solo, put your Diamonds towards a class that helps you gather, fight or move faster instead.

Pairs well with: a gatherer, someone who keeps the Campfire fed, and a fighter for raid nights. While you’re out reviving people, remember the night rules from my Deer guide and Ram guide. A Medic stuck in the forest after dark can’t revive anyone.

Kiko’s take: The Medic is the friend who always has plasters in her bag. It isn’t flashy, it isn’t a damage dealer, and it’s the reason your squad makes it past the first Cultist raid. For 40 Diamonds, it’s an easy yes for group play. It’s the Holo Charizard of support classes: not the flashiest card in the binder, but everyone wants one on the team.
