Berserker Class in 99 Nights: Perks, Melee Tips, Mistakes and Is It Worth It

TL;DR, bestie

  • Cost: 100 diamonds.
  • Starts with: a Medkit (heals about 100 HP, or revives a teammate).
  • Perks: one free auto-revive, a 30-second boost after reviving, and more damage the lower your HP gets.
  • Best for: confident solo players. Not for: beginners. It rewards living on the edge.

Berserker is the class for people who see 15% HP and think "perfect, now I'm dangerous." Fully leveled, it has the highest damage potential of any class in the game.

The catch is that the damage only shows up when you're close to dying. That makes it a skill class, not a safety net.

How to unlock Berserker

  1. Earn 100 diamonds.
  2. Buy it at the General Store in the lobby or through the Classes button.
  3. Equip it before you join a run.

Watch the daily class sale. At 20% off, Berserker drops to 80 diamonds.

Every perk explained

Level 1: one auto-revive

The first time you die, you pop back up on the spot with low HP and low hunger. It only happens once per run.

Early on you don't need it, so the smart play is to stay alive as long as possible and save it for the night things go wrong.

Level 2: the revive boost

When you revive, or get revived by a teammate, you get a 30-second buff package:

  • 5 seconds of being unseen: enemies can't detect you unless you attack them.
  • Huge speed boost: about the same as eating a Chili Pepper.
  • Small damage buff: nice, but the speed is the real gift.

Use those 30 seconds to grab your dropped items and get somewhere safe. Don't use them to keep fighting the thing that just killed you.

Level 3: low-HP damage scaling

The lower your health, the harder you hit. It really comes alive below about 20% HP.

This is the perk that makes Berserker the top damage class, and also the perk that gets Berserkers killed.

Don't take Berserker into a durability badge attempt. The whole kit pushes you toward low HP, which is the opposite of what that badge wants.

How to level Berserker

LevelRequirement
Level 250 enemy kills while under 40% HP, in your second life
Level 3150 enemy kills while under 40% HP, in your second life

"Second life" means after your auto-revive has fired. So you have to die once, then farm kills while staying under 40% HP. That's the hardest leveling requirement of the starter-tier classes.

The farming route I use

  1. Die once on purpose early in a solo run to use up the auto-revive.
  2. Get yourself under 40% HP and keep it there. Don't eat big heals.
  3. Equip a ranged weapon with no ammo problem, like a Raygun or a Laser Cannon.
  4. Hunt low-HP enemies like Wolves (75 HP) from range.
  5. Avoid Alpha packs and Bears until you're comfortable. One bad hit ends the session.

Prefer to skip? The Robux skips are 250 for Level 2 and 400 for Level 3.

How to play Berserker well

Before your revive is used

  • Play normally. Loot, build, eat. Your perks aren't doing anything yet.
  • Hold the Medkit for a teammate revive or a real emergency.
  • Learn which fights you could survive at 20% HP. That's your future.

After your revive is used

  • You have no safety net left. Every fight is a real risk now.
  • Pick fights against groups of weaker enemies, where the damage scaling pays off.
  • Keep a heal in your hotbar so you can climb back out of the red zone if a fight goes sideways.

Is Berserker a healer?

Nope. Because it spawns with a Medkit, some players assume it's a support class. The Medkit is just a starter item.

If your squad needs a real healer, that's a job for the Medic class. Still, your Medkit can revive a downed teammate, so don't waste it on a scratch.

Berserker in a squad

  • Tell your team your revive is a one-time thing. Once it's gone, they need to cover you.
  • Your 30-second boost is perfect for dragging loot or a kid back to camp at speed.
  • Pair with a ranged class who can soften targets while you go in for the finish.

Common mistakes

  • Burning the auto-revive on night 2 by fighting carelessly.
  • Fighting on after reviving instead of running with the speed boost.
  • Sitting at 10% HP with no heal ready, then getting one-shot by an Alpha.
  • Trying to level while above 40% HP. Those kills don't count.
  • Using the Medkit on yourself when a teammate needed a revive.

Berserker is the most fun class in the game when you're good, and the most frustrating when you're not. If you're new, buy something safer first. If you've got a few hundred hours, Level 3 Berserker is pure chaos in the best way.
